LLC: This week we are going to be looking at letter writing. We are going to be identifying the features of a letter. The children are then going to be writing letters of persuasion. In Welsh, the children will be identifying objects from the Victorian era and items from today.
Class Debate: The children are going to be discussing the importance of reading.
Maths and Numeracy: This week the children are going to be looking at deriving complements to 1000. They will then be going to be linking this to money.
Health & Well-Being: In PE, the children are going to be looking at rounders, particularly batting and throwing.
In SEAL, the children are going to be looking at empathy to others.
Science & Technology: The children are going to be looking at building boats out of recycled materials.
Humanities: In RE, the children are going to be looking at the Last Supper and how they need to be living as Jesus told them. In history, the children will be researching famous boats to help them with their own designs.
Expressive Arts: In Music, the children will be listening to 'Make you feel my love' by Adele. They will be appraising and learning to perform the song.
This year, we use Nessy for spellings. Nessy provides the children with the chance to understand the formation of words.
The children have been placed in to Nessy groups, based on an assesment. In these groups, the children are taught the rule for the spellings.
The children then have work based on this rule and are then given spellings to learn over the next week.
Nessy tests are every Friday morning.
Homework is given out on a Friday and is to be returned, completed, to school on the following Thursday.
It is an extension of what we have been doing in school that week.
Homework sometimes may be set on the Google Classroom.
